January. Often noted as one of the most boring months of the year, I will agree it is quite underwhelming after the holiday-filled December. However, January is a great time to fully transition from the relaxing winter break we had not too long before. State testing always seems to sneak its way into this month.
However, January is always cold, and that leads to the occasional snow day (which is always something worth celebrating over). Other than re-adjustment however, not much goes on in this month. Thanks to Kansas’ unpredictable weather, the occasional heat wave (consisting of 30-50 degrees) always gives a nice surprise and melts some ice that has been sitting frozen for a little too long.
January is also the month that starts a new semester, the final semester for our seniors. So, despite the chilly weather and bleak mornings, we must continue to strive towards excellence (as cheesy as it may sound). The countdown to graduation and the end of the school year has officially begun!
